Condo manager throws out drivers’ prayer mats, challenges them to complain to MUIS
The Independent

Ismail Ahmad said in his Facebook that a condominium manager has made
it difficult for his friend and him to perform their obligatory prayers.
Ismail and his friend have been praying under the staircase at the
carpark of Regency Park Condominium for many years. They work as
personal drivers and have to be in the condo vicinity at all times, in
case their bosses needed their services.
Ismail said that he understands that the place where they pray at is
the common property of the estate, but that they have kept the place
clean and neat. They have also ensured that it does not obstruct any
human movement nor does it pose a safety hazard to anyone.
The condo manager, Ms Jennifer Peh from Saville Property Management Pte
Ltd however, threw out their prayer mats and told them to pray outside
the condo if they had to.
“When we appealed to let us use that little space under the staircase,
she told us arrogantly “If you want to pray, go to the mosque”. She
even challenged us to “complain to your MUIS”,” he recounted.
Ismail said that their bosses who are residents of the condo did not
mind them praying under the staircase of the carpark. Their bosses have
also expressed that the harsh action and words of Ms Peh were uncalled
for.
Saying “freedom of worship is a right enshrined in the constitution,”
Ismail asked “where is the religious tolerance that the government
keeps on promoting?”

If that is what really happened at the condo, SHAME on you. How could
any human being behave like this. We should be inspired by people who
placed God before all things and tries to fulfill their religious
obligations no matter what. Please continue to fullfil your religious
obligations, all God fearing people will respect you. As for the
Management hopefully they will reflect and look deep within and come to
realize we are created in God's image and likeness. As human we have
the dignity so please do not trample on us. God bless. Andrew.

Respect and tolerance. Don't do things that you don't like others do to
you...crazy lady, Yeah, I'm talking to you, Ms Peh or whatever. Anyway,
for these 2 bro, pls don't take it to heart. Allah is testing your iman
(faith). If that crazy lady still adamant about this, then try to
survey the area and find a place outside the condo. It may be a bit
troublesome but at least you have a peace of mind when you do your
prayer.

Not only is he not remorseful for his mistake, he even brought this up
on the internet to get support from guys like you. If he wants to be
treated nicely, he should not be treating common property in the condo
as his house in the first place. The fact that the MC had been
tolerating his behaviour for a long time is already being nice to him,
instead of thanking them, he is turning around to bite the management
in the name of religion. With a character like that, he can pray 5
times a day it still doesn't make him a better person. He should repent
and know his mistake first and not throw his w... See More
