The end of the gravy train

In November 2006, two experienced ex-directors were returned to the board.

As soon as he was elected, Don Snider went to the management office and read all the board, AGM and Special Owners Meeting minutes that took place since he left the board.

At the 26 November 2006 board meeting, a resolution was passed requesting management to give all the documentation for all the projects and contracts to the new president so he could study them.

The board also questioned Manzoor about the quality of workmanship with the laying of the tiles and the elevator retrofit. The board also requested management to provide a list of all the corporation’s assets and serial numbers.

The board also directed management to give the board their keys to the building.

After the meeting, the board discovered that a lot of the corporation’s records went missing and on 18 December 2006, Manzoor gave notice that Channel was terminating their contract. The 28th February would be their last day.

Khan’s last board meeting
Manzoor attended his last board meeting on 07 January 2007.

Channel supplied two quotes for an electrical repairs contract. The board stated that they would request two additional quotes.

The board then grilled him and passed nine different resolutions requesting Manzoor to provide documentation showing where the board gave management authorization to spend money, authorize projects or to sign contracts.

Manzoor said that the board, not he, initiated the interior renovations project. When asked why he bought the ceramic tiles instead of Atkins, he replied that Atkins offered a 15% discount while he provided a 40% discount.

As far as the resolutions requesting him to provide the corporation's documentation, the requested documents would be relayed to the board through his legal council.

Then the board asked Manzoor to show proof that he actually had the professional qualifications he claimed to possess. He replied: “My qualifications have nothing to do with your corporation.”

Manzoor also made it clear that was not fired; he had resigned.

Final goodbye
In a letter dated 19 January 2007 Manzoor stated that Channel would no longer attend monthly board meetings or any meeting with the board of directors.
