A Laotian man fell to his death from the ninth floor of a condominium in Bangkok’s Bang Kapi district in an apparent suicide early Tuesday morning, police said.

Lieutenant Phakkasit Disara, deputy inspector of Lard Prao Police Station, was alerted to the incident at about 2:00 am.

Phakkasit said Mee Theppawongsa, 22, fell onto the roof of a car and then fell onto the ground in front of Building D of the Bang Kapi Condominium.

Mee’s brother-in-law, Ya Wongranad, 32, a security guard at the building, told police that Mee was staying with him on the ninth floor. He said Mee returned to the condo at about 1:00 am and took the room key from him.

He then heard a loud noise and found the body.

Police checked Mee’s room and found that the net used to prevent birds entering the balcony had been cut away.
