2nd Round of public consultations
Testing ideas to address the issues

In early June 2013, the City of Toronto held a second round of public consultations with condominium occupants. Residents attended four meetings to develop ideas to address some of the issues identified in the first round.

The ideas discussed were in three categories.

Community around the building
1.
Congestion.
2.
Lack of community input for the use of Section 37 funds.
3.
New construction causes noise, dust, congestion.
4.
Condos too tall and poor creative design.
5.
Lack of amenities for dogs.
6.
Lack of green space.

Physical building
1.
Lack of visitor parking.
2.
Lack of bicycle parking.
3.
Too many small units.
4.
Construction quality issues.

Community inside the building
1.
Condo board governance
2.
Taxes too high for services recieved.
3.
Condo resident supports, education

These discussions were held to give community input to the updates to the city's Official Plan.

Unfortunately, the Etobicoke meeting was very poorly attended. (Only 14 condo owners showed up and half of them from only two condo buildings.)

An online survey will follow these consultations in June. The survey will be available at
