Condo security guard arrested for shooting two at pool

LAS VEGAS - A security guard is facing charges of murder and attempted
murder after a shooting at condominium complex swimming pool last week.
Malik Kendrick was arrested following the shooting of Travone Crockett
and a 14-year-old girl at the Mountainside condos at 6800 E. Lake Mead
Boulevard on Aug. 3.
According to the arrest report, the teen told police, Kendrick, who
works as a security guard walked by the pool and Crockett mentioned
that he had a beef with him when both were in jail a few years ago. She
said, Crockett told her that Kendrick had shot at him, in the past.
A few moments later, gunfire erupted at the pool, Crockett was hit
several times. The teen dove for cover but was also hit, in her wrist
and a finger.
Witnesses told police what direction the shooter ran and that he was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and a green mask.
When police interviewed security officer Kendrick, he said he didn't
see the man even though he was supposedly in the same area, the report
said.
Surveillance video also showed the suspect and Kendrick had the same pants and shoes.
According to the report, Kendrick lied and said he didn't drive a car
to work. When police located his car, they found a black hoodie, green
mask and two guns.
