The new Act will have a long life
Bill 106, formally titled “An Act to amend the Condominium Act, 1998,
to enact the Condominium Management Services Act, 2015 and to amend
other acts with respect to condominiums” was introduced in Queens Park
on 27 May 2015 just before the politicians recessed for the summer
months.
The Condominium Act was last updated in the legislature in 1998 and was
proclaimed in 2001. With luck, Bill 106 will be pass third reading this
year and be proclaimed, perhaps in stages, in the next two or three
years.
Therefore, it is important that our politicians fully understand this
Act before they vote to pass it as we will be living under it for the
next twenty years or so.
