The Trump Village co-op board allegedly retaliated against tenants who
complained with threats of eviction and loss of parking spaces.
Trump Village is going to the dogs.
The Brooklyn U.S. Attorney's office slapped the massive co-op
development with a lawsuit Wednesday alleging several tenants with
disabilities have been prohibited from keeping emotional support dogs
in their apartments.
When the tenants objected, they were allegedly retaliated against with
threats of eviction and loss of their parking spaces, according to the
suit.
Igor Oberman, a member of Trump Village's board of directors and a
defendant in the suit, suggested the suit may be politically motivated.
"I feel due to the Trump name, we are being persecuted," Oberman told
The Daily News. "I look forward to our day in court."
GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump has no connection to the Coney
Island development. It was built in the 1960s by The Donald's father
Fred Trump.
